| The Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre, located at the University of Manitoba's Glenlea Research Station, will once again take part in Open Farm Day on September 16.
The Centre will be open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm, and this year Manitoba Pork will offer a free pork lunch from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. There will also be extra hands-on activities, including hatching chicks, new piglets (only a few days old!), vanilla ice cream, a dairy barn tour at 10 (20 people max), and games for the kids. The Centre will also be celebrating its one-year birthday so there will be cake!
Open Farm Day is a province-wide event that connects the public directly to farmers, ranchers and market gardeners, and provides the opportunity to learn more about farm life and Manitoba food production. See the complete range of Open Farm Day available tour stops. |
