Western Regional Workshop
June 27, 3:30 – 7:00
Hosted by University of Manitoba
Please join CBIE and your local international education colleagues at the CBIE Western Regional Workshop being held in six locations across Western Canada on June 27.
An exciting innovation this year: this Workshop will demonstrate a new way to bring our far-flung network of international education professionals together. It will be held simultaneously in six locations across the West, all linked to the main Workshop site in Kelowna, BC.
Existing CBIE members as well as prospective members from the Winnipeg area are invited to attend the workshop at the University of Manitoba.
Schedule of Events:
CBIE Year Ahead, presented by Karen McBride, CBIE President and CEO, providing an update on CBIE’s latest endeavours on behalf of members in fulfilling our role as the voice of international education in Canada.
Code of Ethical Practice in Daily Activities, facilitated by CBIE Board Member Catherine Vertesi, Vice-President International, External Relations and New Initiatives, Capilano University, in collaboration with Michelle Suderman, Chair of CBIE’s Immigration Advisory Committee and Associate Director, International Student Development, UBC.
o As groups of IE practitioners across the globe engage in the development of Codes and Guidelines for appropriate practice, we are collectively seeking to update our own Code developed in 1993.
o This workshop aims to solicit the input, feedback, and creativity of CBIE members in the review of this code.
In an effort to ensure broad representation of experiences and best practices across a vast territory and in recognition of the many kilometres we travel every year, CBIE is collaborating with the University of Manitoba to connect participants to this event:
