The Prairies in 3-D is the fourth in a series of interdisciplinary conferences hosted by St John’s College at the University of Manitoba. It takes place September 27-29, 2007.
Keynote speakers will be Dr. Len Findlay, Department of English, University of Saskatchewan, and Dr. Valerie Korinek, Department of History, also of the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Findlay will speak on “The Prairies in 3-D: Decolonizing, Diasporic, Dialectical.” Dr. Korinek’s address is entitled “RE-oriented, Diverse & Modern: Queerying the Prairies.”
There will also be a special session of readings held in honour of the late writer Birk Sproxton, who was a graduate of St John’s College.
Registration is free for graduate and undergraduate students (except meal tickets which must be paid for in advance).
