The MADLAT 2012 Conference promises to be an engaging event for educational technology professionals across Manitoba. We all know that digital technology is causing significant changes, but how can we as learning facilitators better understand our students’ use of this technology. Sidneyeve Matrix’s workshop Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and Flickr. Oh My. But Why? Connecting New Digital Tools to 'Old School' Pedagogy (workshop 1) will engage participants on actionable ways to use social media and mobile devices to leverage student’s highly wired digital proclivities both inside and outside the classroom.
How can we reach out to learners in a constantly evolving technology environments? Instructional Design: Best Practices for e-Learning in a Changing World (session 1) will include a panel discussion with the instructional design team from the University of Manitoba. How can instructional designers, instructors and content experts collaborate better to strategically engage learners? With your active participation in this discussion, this presentation will prove be a stimulating debate on various professional approaches.
Imagine learning how to save lives using learning technology. Today, with the integration of video, mobile devices and the Web, simulation training is reaching new heights. Learn with Cassidy Dzama and Murray Toews from the Learning Technologies Group at Red River College as they present Creating a Mobile Paramedicine Simulation Using HTML5 and HD Video (session 8).
