Introduction of Katie Kutryk, Health and Wellness Educator
Posted Friday, August 2, 2013 8:49 AM

I am delighted to announce that Ms. Katie Kutryk has joined the University of Manitoba as of July 2, 2013. Ms. Kutryk was selected to act as the Health and Wellness Educator, while Julia Civka is on leave.

The position of Health and Wellness, while reporting to the Executive Director of Student Services, will work collaboratively within Student Affairs and with other units to ensure effective development and coordination of health education and health promotion programs for the University of Manitoba student population. An advisory committee, representative of units with interest in student health and wellness, has been created to assist Ms. Kutryk with her work and to continue identifying and developing programming that addresses the primary areas of student health and wellness including: mental health, alcohol and drug use, relationship issues, reproductive health, physical activity and nutrition.

Katie, a registered nurse, is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (Bachelor of Nursing). She has a passion for public health, a focus of her studies in the final year of her nursing degree. She has worked with diverse populations at the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital and has experience in travel health.

Katie is an active volunteer in her community and abroad. She looks forward to sharing her passion for holistic health and wellness with all University of Manitoba students.
