| Dean Ralph Stern is pleased to announce that at its April 17th meeting, the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Professor Terri Fuglem as Acting Head of the Department of Architecture for a two-year term until June 30, 2014.
Professor Fuglem graduated with distinction from a five-year professional degree program in architecture at Carleton University in 1984, and completed a post-professional Master of Architecture degree in History and Theory at McGill University in 1993. She gained professional experience at architectural firms in Ottawa, Montreal and London, England. She taught architectural design studio as well as history and theory at Carleton and Dalhousie Universities and has served as an external Thesis Examiner at Waterloo University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Professor Fuglem was appointed to the Department of Architecture at the University of Manitoba as an Assistant Professor in 2001. She received tenure, and promotion to Associate Professor, in 2008. Professor Fuglem has served on and chaired a variety of administrative committees, and participated in the development of the current curriculum of the Department of Architecture at the University of Manitoba.
