| | "Vigilia" is Finnish for "All-Night Vigil". This piece was written by Einojuhani Rautavaara, who is a composer whom our own Professor Elroy Friesen is studying as part of his doctoral degree requirements (University of Illinois). This concert with the "Winnipeg Soloists Choir" will be performed under the direction of Elroy Friesen. Artists include: Mark Dietrich, basso profundo Marni Enns, soprano Kirsten Schellenberg, mezzo-soprano Byung Yoon, tenor Aran Matsuda, baritone. Tickets are $20.00 for Adults, $10.00 for Students and are available at the door, or in advance from the Music office. This project has been funded in part by Foundation for Choral Music in Manitoba and a Creative Works Grant from the University of Manitoba. The concert will be recorded and broadcast by CBC Radio 2. |
