Posted Tuesday, June 30, 2009†3:32 PM

The Manitoba Bisons are pleased to announce the release of the full conference and non-conference schedules for all CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) teams and individual sports at the University of Manitoba for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

The 19th annual Duckworth Challenge, which pits the Bisons versus the University of Winnipeg in womenís and menís basketball and volleyball games, will be played in non-conference games in October. This is the first time ever that games in this annual event will be non-conference.
The volleyball portion is scheduled on Tuesday, October 6 at the University of Winnipeg and then the Challenge ends with basketball on Wednesday, October 7 at the University of Manitoba. The Bisons holds the lead in the Duckworth Challenge with a record of eight wins, four losses and six ties while the Wesmen have retained the title with a victory last season.

In the 2009-10 Bisons schedule, the womenís soccer team plays bright and early at 10 a.m. on three occasions (September 19, October 3 and October 31). In addition, the womenís hockey team will raise their first banner (2008-09 Canada West Champion) at the Max Bell Arena in their home opener on Friday, October 30 against UBC.
