Mulder and Voth are Smitty's Bison Sports Athletes of the Week

Women's volleyball student-athlete, Crystal Mulder (University 1) and men's volleyball student-athlete, Chris Voth (Kinesiology and Recreation Management) have been named the Smitty's Bison Sports Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 20/11.

The #5 Bison women’s volleyball team swept a road weekend series against the Thomson Rivers WolfPack during the Nov. 18-19 weekend. Manitoba now has won three in a row and holds a 6-2 record so far this season.

Rookie Crystal Mulder was a big part of the road sweep with two strong matches. She contributed 24 kills, 18 digs, six assists, two total blocks and 26.0 points.

In the 3-2 (23-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-10) come-from-behind victory on Friday, Nov. 25, the Winnipeg native had a game-high 19 kills with five digs, two blocks and 20 points in starting and playing all five sets. The next night, Mulder added 13 digs, six assists, five digs and 6.0 points in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-15) road win.

Manitoba (6-2) host the #2 Alberta Pandas (5-1) at Investors Group Athletic Centre (U of Manitoba campus) on November 25-26. First serve both night at 6 p.m. CT.

The #3 Bison men’s volleyball team continues their unbeaten season as they swept a road weekend series against the Thomson Rivers WolfPack during the Nov. 18-19 weekend. Manitoba now has won eight consecutive matches and holds a 8-0 record so far this season.

Fourth year left side Chris had a balanced attack in the road sweep with two strong matches. He registered 29 kills, 12 digs, five total blocks and 32.5 points.

In the 3-2 (25-17, 22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 15-8) victory on Friday, Nov. 25, the Winnipeg native had ten kills and ten digs along with one block and 10.5 points in starting and playing all five sets. The next night, Voth added a game-high 19 digs on .350 hitting percentage, four total blocks two digs and 22.0 points in a 3-1 (25-15, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17) road win.

Manitoba (8-0) host the #2 Alberta Golden Bears (6-0) at Investors Group Athletic Centre (U of Manitoba campus) on November 25-26. First serve both night scheduled at 8 p.m. CT.
