Students of the Asper school of Business will learn firsthand about a softer kind of bear market when they donate teddy bears they made to the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation on Monday. The 30 personally-tailored bears include an East Indian teddy bear ‘couple’ in traditional wedding attire, and will be given to children’s charities via the Yearling Foundation, a charitable arm of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club.
Robert Warren, Executive Director of the Asper Centre for Entrepreneurship came up with the idea for his students in the new venture analysis course. He plans to make the bear making and giving an annual event as part of a creativity exercise.
The teddy bear handover will take place at 10:00 am, Monday, October 23, in 136 Drake Centre. For more information call Robert Warren, Executive Director of the Asper Centre for Entrepreneurship, University of Manitoba, 474-8422.
