On June 22, people from across the city will be hopping on their bikes to participate in this year’s annual Bike to Work Day. For the first time, the University of Manitoba will host one of the 35-plus pit stops located across the city. All registered cyclists are encouraged to stop by the Welcome Centre, located at 423 University Crescent, from 6 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. for free juice, coffee, muffins and fruit, as well as basic bike maintenance.
To end their commute, all registered participants can head to The Forks for a free barbecue, complete with live music, prizes and bike valet service. The barbecue is from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Cyclists can register online at biketoworkdaywinnipeg.org before June 22 or at any pit stop.
