A new way for prospective students to learn about attending university has been introduced by the University of Manitoba. Known as UMConnect, this new online recruitment tool allows students exploring admission to programs at the University of Manitoba to get help in planning their future through personalized web pages and communications.

UMConnect also enables the University of Manitoba student recruitment office to communicate directly with potential students, learning more about their interests and providing information that is relevant specifically to them.

“This really enhances and personalizes student recruitment at the University of Manitoba,” says Kerri Gregoire, customer relationship management specialist with enrolment services. “It allows us to provide more structured and individualized information directly to students in a timely way. If a student is interested in engineering, he or she will receive information about engineering-related events and activities. If it’s physical education or community development and wellness, then information about kinesiology and recreation management will be sent.”

Gregoire adds: “Recruitment of students is getting more and more competitive and students expect information immediately. This new tool gives us a real advantage, with reporting and tracking capabilities, allowing the student recruitment team to effectively guide students in making major decisions about their education and careers.”
