Here are some tips on finding textbooks for courses for less than what you can get them for on campus.

The suggestions below all have their advantages and drawbacks.

1) Lease a textbook - a number of online sites will allow you to lease a textbook and return it at the end of term (or keep it for a fee)

2) Rent an electronic version of the textbook for a specified period of time. There are a number of sites offering this service, each with its own pros and cons.

3) Purchase the textbook from an off campus source. There are a number of bookstores around Winnipeg that will order books (as long as you have an ISBN number or name) often for significantly less that what the bookstore charges.

Hopefully we will see an eReader come out supporting more textbooks, and publishers will support this format more.
