Ø Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are stressed as well as the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
As the program is based on giving students the experience they will need to find full-time employment upon graduation, a great deal of experience is not necessary for the IIP positions. Basic background knowledge in the area of choice is of course expected.
International (Visa) students that are successful in obtaining an Internship in Canada must apply for Employment Authorization through Citizen and Immigration Canada. Application forms for Work Authorizations are available at the International Centre for Students (541A University Centre). The ECE Department will also need supply a status letter to accompany the application.
