Recent FKRM grad honoured by Canadian Association of Teacher Education

Helena Baert (M.Sc., 2008), a recent graduate of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management, has been honoured with a Thesis Recognition of Excellence Award for her University of Manitoba Masters thesis, entitled Wiki & TGFU: A Collaborative Approach to Understanding Games Education.

The award was presented over the weekend by the Canadian Association of Teacher Education, at the University of Carlton in Ottawa. Dr. Joannie Halas (Baert’s FKRM thesis advisor) and Dr. Catherine Casey, a supervisory committee member from the U of M’s Faculty of Education, were pleased to have been able to celebrate Baert’s honour with her in Ottawa.

Baert is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas.
