| The No. 2 ranked Manitoba Bisons men’s volleyball team (18-2) is at home to start the playoffs as they host the UBC-Okanagan Heat (8-12) in the 2012 Canada West Quarter Final best-of-three playoff series. Game one will commence on Thursday, February 16 at 7 p.m. CT with game two on Friday, February 17 at 7 p.m. CT and game three (if necessary) will be played on Saturday, February 18 at 7 p.m. CT. All games played at the Investors Group Athletic Centre - IGAC (U of Manitoba campus).
The No. 10 ranked Manitoba Bisons women’s volleyball team (11-9) will travel to begin the playoffs as they play on the road at the No. 4 ranked Winnipeg Wesmen (14-6) in the 2012 Canada West Quarter Final best-of-three playoff series. Game one will commence on Thursday, February 16 at 7 p.m. CT with game two on Friday, February 17 at 7 p.m. CT and game three (if necessary) will be played on Saturday, February 18 at 7 p.m. CT. All games played at the Duckworth Centre.
For the men, they meet newcomer UBC-Okanagan for the first time in Canada West playoffs. The Bisons reach the post-season for the third consecutive season and seek to advance to the Final Four playoff round for the first time since the 2005-06 season. Earlier in the 2011-12 conference regular season, Manitoba swept the Heat in a home weekend series (Nov. 11: W 3-0; Nov. 12: W 3-0).
For the women, they meet crosstown rival Winnipeg Manitoba for the first time in Canada West playoffs since the 1998-99 season. The Bisons qualify for a sixth consecutive season into the post-season and last season made it to the Final Four playoff round. Earlier in the 2011-12 conference regular season, Manitoba was swept by Winnipeg in a home-and-home weekend series (Feb. 1: L 3-0; Feb. 4.: L 3-1).
