Eight finish in Top 10

Eight Bisons earned Top 10 finishes July 16 and 17 during the 2005 Canadian Track and Field Championships held at University Stadium.

Bison Kristjan Hunter secured a bronze medal in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:54.96.

 

With over 500 competitors, 14 Manitoba Bisons competed in the prestigious event. The Bison Top 10 finishers include Hunter, Sharon Drake (6th), Kja Isaacson (8th), Whitney Blight (7th), Sam Jerema (8th), Darolyn Trembath (10th), Melissa Armstrong (8th), Brian Walker (7th).

The results from the weekend will be used to assist in the selection of athletes to the upcoming the 2005 FISU - International University Sports Federation - (World University Games) held at Izmir, Turkey from August 11-21, the 2005 World Championships and the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Hunter and Trembath have an excellent chance of making the FISU Games team when it is announced on July 20.
