Hi, I been a type 1 Diabetic for 35 years and now have Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease I'm 54. I volunteered in a blinded clinical research study in the last year for a new long lasting insulin, all I know is that during that time I lowered my A1C TO 7.3 and took at least half the insulin I took before the study, also injected just twice a day compare to 4 times a day 1 Basal and 1 Bolus, that study, Doctors, Nurses, Dietician, all of the staff help me tremendously. It was very rewarding knowing that I help try this study to improve treatment for Diabetics. This study is over , so I volunteered for a another study but was refuse because of my stage 4 CKD. I been looking for a clinical trial for a Type 1 Diabetic with CKD found some but in New Brunswick, Toronto, U.S.A, why can't we have one here in Winnipeg? I want to help try new treatment for the complications this disease throws at us for all Diabetics. Thank you Michel Beauchemin
