Congratulations to Dr. Jeannette Montufar, Civil Engineering, on receiving the Woman of Distinction Award in the Leadership category.

Prof. Jeannette Montufar, Department of Civil Engineering, was awarded a YM-YWCA Woman of Distinction last night. Jeannette was recognized in the Leadership and Management category in which there were more than a dozen worthy nominees. Jeannette has undertaken ground-breaking  research related to a wide range of transportation issues, particularly pedestrians and people with physical disabilities. Jeannette was the first Manitoban to receive the Engineers Canada Young Engineer Achievement Award and she was the youngest female Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

The Award of yesterday confirms what all of us who have had the opportunity to work, learn and study with Jeannette already knew  - that she is clearly a Women of Distinction.

We look forward to Jeannette’s continuing contributions to Civil Engineering, the Faculty and University, as well as everything that she contributes to the external community.
