The Manitoba Bison football team is preparing for their first Canada West playoff action since the 2002 season. The squad can finish as high as third and no worse than fourth in Canada West.
With a thrilling 28-27 win over the Calgary Dinos last Friday, the Manitoba Bisons football team are now focusing on their first Canada West playoff match-up in three years.
The football team posted four wins in a season since the 2002 unbeaten campaign. With the Calgary result, the Herd ended with two wins on the road. The four-win mark betters the previous 3-5 records set in back-to-back seasons in 2004 and 2003.
The team will now practice this week awaiting their opponent after this weekend’s action.
The Bisons will either start the playoffs on the road against number-two ranked Saskatchewan Huskies or the fifth-ranked Alberta Golden Bears on Saturday, November 5. Game time will be determined at a later date. Campus Radio 101.5 FM (UMFM) will be covering the playoff game with Chad Scarsbrook (play-by-play) and Zurick Scherger (colour) on air.
