Programs and Performer Services Assistant|

Job Summary: ThePrograms and Performer Services Assistant will provide operational and administrative support to the Artistic Department of the Winnipeg Folk Festival for the
2014 Festival.

This includes general support for all Performer Services and
Education and Outreach initiatives. This also includes the delivery of the Young Performers Program and Folk Music Camp at the 2014 Festival.

Summer Term Position: March 31, 2014 – July 31, 2014 (18 weeks)

• Assistance to the Winnipeg Folk Festival Artistic Department for all activities; including performer logistics, layout and preparation of information and materials (lists, performer packs, guides and brochures),
payroll/payment processing and third party bookings;

• Delivery of the 2014 Young Performers Program, including application and information management, program logistics (venue, food and beverage, supplies and equipment), correspondence etc.;

• Delivery of the 2014 Folk Music Camp including registration and information management, program logistics
(venue, food and beverage, supplies and equipment), correspondence etc.;

• Assistance to all Performer Services/Education volunteer

• Assistance preparing text and materials for website updates and program book production for the Marketing Communications department;

• Assistance with performer payroll and Artistic Department
support on site during the Festival;

• Assistance with special events;

• Administrative support to the Artistic Department as

• Report writing, including a final report with suggestions
for improvement.

Work Schedule:

The hours of work are generally 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday,a 35hour week with a one hour unpaid lunch.

During the weeks prior to and following the Festival, longer
hours are required. During the Festival, the selected candidate must have the physical and mental capacity to work
long hours in an outdoor environment.

Education and Skills Required:

• Ability to quickly and cost effectively find solutions to unexpected problems.

• Post secondary degree/diploma Event/Project Management, Marketing, Communications or equivalent

• Event planning or Festival experience is an asset

• Excellent writing and proofreading skills

• Ability to work independently

• Excellent analytic and problem solving skills

• Strong data and information skills

• Mature with sound judgment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and

• Ability to consistently meet deadlines

• Demonstrated project management including ability to prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines and changing priorities

• Positive attitude

• Organized, detail-orientated, with demonstrated attention
to accuracy

Vehicle Requirement: Access to a personal vehicle and a
valid driver’s license is necessary.
