JavaScript news integration allows you to place a single line of JavaScript into any Web page on any site, and automatically have the news from any section of any nTreePoint News site be dynamically inserted into the page.

Here is an example:

<script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.mysite.com/Feeds/newsFeed.asp?typ=1&sec=1140&cou=15&ind=1&int=1&ins=1&ini=1"></script>

The following table describes each variable to include in the URL when adding the script to one of your pages:

Name Key Description
Type typ If this value is not provided, the script assumes you are requesting JavaScript integration. A value of "1" can also be used to specify JavaScript integration.
Event eve If this value is not provided, the script assumes you are requesting a list of the most recent news items. If the value is "2", you are requesting a list of news items within a specific date range, in which case you will need to provide a start and end date.
Start Date sta The start date of the date range. This is only required if the Event (eve) is "2".
End Date end The end date of the date range. This is only required if the Event (eve) is "2".
Section ID sec The id of the section from which the news is extracted. If you are browsing news through the nTreePoint interface, the section ID is the number after "sec=" on the querystring.
Count cou The number of news items to display.
Include Date ind If this value is set to "1", the date will be displayed for each news item.
Include Time int If this value is set to "1", the time will be displayed for each news item.
Include Summary ins If this value is set to "1", the summary will be displayed for the news item. If there is a body for the news item but no summary, the first part of the body will become the summary.
Include Summary Image ini If this value is set to "1", then if there is a summary image for the news item, it will be displayed.
Summary Image HSPACE hsp The horizontal spacing for the summary image; the default is 5.
Summary Image VSPACE vsp The vertical spacing for the summary image; the default is 0.
Summary Image Align ali The alignment of the summary image; the choices are LEFT or RIGHT. The default is LEFT.
For the next six items, you can use either a class from a stylesheet that is included in the page in which the news is being integrated, or you can define specific styles for each item. It is recommended that you use either one or the other, but not both.
