A Radio Button Group question is a group of multiple radio button questions that share the same list options. The list is displayed at the top of the question (but after the caption), then each individual radio button question is displayed under the list items.

The following is an example of a Radio Button question:

List Options

1. List
 
If there are existing lists that administrators have added to the Web Forms tool, you may choose them from the drop-down list. These lists are reusable across any form. If the administrator makes any changes to the list, the changes will automatically be applied to any forms that use the list.

Note: Only administrators can manage global lists. For more information about global lists, see this help file.

If you want to add your own list to the question, choose "Custom" from the drop-down list. The form will reload and display a text area where you can enter your list items, one per line. When finished, click the Add button, after which the form will be reloaded again. Now you can choose a default (if desired), as well as define an "Other" field. This is a field where if the user chooses the radio selection, there will also be a small single-line text field where they can type in their response. The example above has an "Other" field.

Note: "Other" fields can only be defined in custom lists at the question level. Although global lists can have "Other" fields, it is up to the administrator to define the field explicitly in the global list.

2. Defaults
 
You can choose a single item that will be selected by default when the form is first displayed to the user (that the user can then change on his or her own).
 
After making the list selection, click the Add button. The form will then be reloaded and a link will appear at the bottom of the page that reads "Manage Questions".
 
3. Questions
 
Click the "Manage Questions" link to add the individual radio button questions to the radio button group. On the next page, click the "Add Group Question" link to add a new radio button question. Like normal radio button questions, a caption and short name must be provided. Click the Add button to add the question. You can then either click the "Add Group Questions" link again to add additional radio button questions, or you can click the "Back to Question..." link to return to the Radio Button Group form.
